Evie Wilder

Evie is a Colorado-based photographer drawn to wildlife, landscapes, and dark skies. She has always been curious about what lies beyond the familiar, and much of her photography has grown from simply getting in the car, heading somewhere new, and seeing what she finds.

Her Story

Evie grew up in the Sierra Nevada mountains just outside Yosemite National Park, where mountains, forests, and naturally dark skies were part of everyday life. Years of road trips across the United States expanded that early connection into a fascination with the many different landscapes and creatures that make up the American West.

Today, Evie's photography takes her from alpine wilderness blanketed in wildflowers to desert basins where the stars create shadows. From quiet wildlife encounters to midnight heart pumping encounters.

She is particularly drawn to the hours when the world slows, when stars claim the sky and early morning light stirs wildlife awake. Her images are a reflection of her adventures near and far. Every image is a reflection of a real place and feeling. She wants people to feel more confident exploring, more observant of what is around them, and more connected to the places they visit. Photography has become a way for her to share those places and experiences with others.

Evie co-leads small-group night photography workshops with Astronomy Photographer of the Year Brad Goldpaint. Limited to eight participants, these immersive workshops provide hands-on guidance in the field at premier dark-sky locations across the United States, in hopes of inspiring people to reconnect with the real world before it is gone forever.
